East Ridge Raptors Tire out Roseville Raiders
The East Ridge Raptors said farewell to its senior class on Friday, October 14th while destroying the Roseville Raiders 42-14. Senior Night always looks to be an exciting game, however, even a pajama themed student section was not prepared for the sleeper of a game this turned out to be.
The Raptors started off the game in typical fashion, running all over its opponents. By the end of the first drive of the game, Ty Okada had rushed for a touchdown.
Roseville took note of the East Ridge fans’ apparel and sleepily walked onto the field for a quick three and out to give the ball right back to the Raptor offense.
East Ridge took the ball methodically down the field in the following drive, taking chunk after chunk of yardage, while also eating up much of the 1st Quarter time. The ground game has been the Raptors’ best friend all season, and this remained true tonight as the Raptors scored a ground touchdown for the second time with Ty Okada putting up his second rushing score of the night.
Roseville woke up in a big way following the Raptor score and drove its way into Raptor territory. The Raiders knew they needed points desperately and knowing scoring opportunities would be scarce on the evening, and the decided to go for a 4th down conversion. But our defense would not budge and they stuffed the Raiders.
The teams swapped a pair of scoreless drives before A.J. Tittle busted out a 60 yard run to put the Raptors up by 21 with 5:16 left in the second quarter.
Roseville continued its efforts to put the pajama donned fans to sleep by going three and out once again to give the ball right back to East Ridge.
The Raptors drove down the field with ease and let senior linebacker Will Walker rush for a touchdown.
Roseville continued to show off its punting skills by going three and out and giving the ball right back to the Raptors.
This drive, the Raptors had a little fun and drove down the field only to finish the drive off by letting senior offensive lineman Jack Milbauer score the 6th touchdown of the night, putting East Ridge up 42-0 in the 3rd quarter. This ended the night for the starters.
Following the Milbauer’s touchdown, the reserve players went in and the game limped to an end with a final score of 42-14.
The Raptors are now preparing for their season finale against cross-town rival Woodbury.
